How to use it

Use raise awareness of or raise awareness about + topic. It is common in news, charity work, and school writing. Do not confuse raise with rise: raise needs an object, but rise does not.

Not: They rose awareness about recycling.
Say: They raised awareness about recycling. (The verb is raise, and its past form is raised.)
